Thundurus - Incarnate Forme Raid Duo Guide (2024)

Mega Aerodactyl is the highest DPS option among the Mega Evolutions on offer. And while that alone makes it attractive, add to that the fact that it boosts Rampardos and Rhyperior, two of the strongestandmost common top counters to Thundurus,and it becomes a potentiallydevastatingPokemon to bring to the table. Utilizing Mega Aerodactyl will definitely bring some great rewards if you plan with your raid group to bring all of the big-name Rock Types to the field at the same time, and it even has thehugeadvantage of taking neutral damage from Brick Break; a feat that no other top Mega counter can boast! ....but let's just ignore the fact that it's at risk of becoming extinct again if Thundurus hurls a lightning bolt in so much as its general direction, k?

The top Ice Type DPS Mega, Mega Glalie can potentially raise your raid group to even greater heights thanks to thetremendouspower of Shadow Mamoswine and Mega Weavile, making it situationally optional depending on raid group size despite dealing less damage than Mega Aerodactyl itself. However, it's notallgood news; as the main Pokemon that it hopes to boost, Shadow Mamoswine and Shadow Weavile, aren't in every player's arsenal. If you have a larger raid group and can get everyone to front-load their Ice Type counters and/orit happens to be snowing, then Mega Glalie is your best friend. If not, it'sprobablybest to stick with Mega Aerodactyl.

Drop some DPS and gain some TDO when compared to Mega Glalie and BAM! You've got Mega Abomasnow! Same points apply.

The DPS King for this raid, Mamoswine does not fear the wicked crack of electricity that Thundurus seeks to crash down onto its head with the force of nature that befits its trio-title. A monsterus Pokemon, Shadow Mamoswine's ancient power stands against Thunderus as one of the undisputed greatest counters to its rampage... just so long as Thundurus doesn't have a green belt from that oneKarate dojo in the mall and know how to break bricks.

Silent as the night, Shadow Weavile is a shadow and an assassin among Pokemon, coming in and lowering Thundurus into a frosty grave from which it shall never again ris-OH COME ON, DID IT SERIOUSLY JUSTDIE TO ONE BRICK BREAK?!

Rhyperior doesn't have the DPS needed to directly contend with the other Pokemon in this tier of counters, falling short by a fair margin, in fact. So why is it all the way up here? Because it has duo-viable DPS combined withstupid high TDO!seriously; nothing in the game can challenge Thundurus for as long as Rhyperior,especiallywhen facing down Electric Type movesets! It also has the bulk to face down Brick Break like a champ despite its weakness, giving it avery strongplace in the Supreme Counters

Hit hard, and if that doesn't work,hit harder!Rampardos is the DPS king among the Rock Types, beating out Mega Aerodactyl bythe tiniest fraction of a margin!It's not going to last long,especiallyif Thundurus is breaking every brick that it sees, but it's going to do someseriousdamage while it's active.

Snow apehit hard. Snow apehave lots damage. Snow ape have nice afro. Snow ape still waiting for Zen Mode. Snow ape proud of afro. Snow ape no like Brick Break.

Behold the Pokemon that will save us from the tyranny of Brick Break! Shadow Pokemon, probably the most universal counter in this entire game, resistsBreak Break thanks to its Psychic typing, which allows it toresistBrick Break! This is one of the best all-around counters to this raid that you can bri-....oh crap, Thundurus has AstonishandCrunch, doesn't it?...welp, it's still good overall!

While pretty low in the TDO department, Shadow Aerodactyl has respectable DPS that allows it to-aaand it was just struck by lightning. Time to find another Old Amber, I guess...

IT'S A FRIGGIN T-REX GUYS! LOOK AT THIS GUY, IT'S GUNNA BITE THUNDURUS AND THROW ROCKS AT IT, HOW COOL IS THAT? ....oh crap, Thundurus just karate-chopped its head off.

The true classic Ice Type, Mamoswine is the old-reliable for this raid, hitting hard and lasting for a decent amount of time thanks to its resistance to Electric Type attacks. Just don't expect it to stand up to Brick Break for very long....

Hard hitting and strong, Terrakion has the rare advantage of resisting Crunch, making it a pretty attractive Pokemon to shore up weaknesses. But does it still take Super Effective damage from Brick Break?Yup!

Shadow Omastar can definitely throw some rocks... but it's weak to most of what Thundurus can throw at it, so it's not a great option overall.

Remember the days of "DON'T USE AGGRON"? Well, we give you special permission to utilize Aggron... when it's in its Shadow forme. Just watch out for Brick Break, as its huge bulk won't work very well against it.
