What time does jury duty start in Fresno, CA? ›

Courts normally begin their jury trials each morning at 8:30 AM and recess for lunch between 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM and end the day by 5:00 PM. Once you have been assigned as a juror to a courtroom, the court will instruct you as to what time you are to report directly to the courtroom.

You may be excused if you have a serious health problem. If you are sick or injured, you may postpone your service or request an excuse. If you are disabled, you may request a permanent medical excuse. Follow the directions on the summons for postponement or excuse.

Juror hours are 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise informed by court personnel. Jurors reporting to the Central Justice Center should arrive at the courthouse by 7:45 a.m. unless otherwise instructed by the voice/web call in message.

Failure to appear might result in a fine of up to $1,500, jail, or both. To report for Jury Service, individuals must be qualified and have not been excused or had their service postponed.

A minute order is a specific type of interim order in a family law case. It is a brief record of a judge's decision in a court hearing, typically prepared by the court clerk. Write "Dear Judge (surname)," to begin the letter.

If writing to a U.S. state or federal Supreme Court, use “Dear Justice” instead. If a judge's title is "Chief Judge" or "Chief Justice," you may use that title instead.
